An Evening with Susan Cottrell

Melbourne Inclusive Church is honoured to have Susan Cottrell speaking at our Fatih and Sexuality Forum on 26 June 2019 and also at our Sunday morning service on 30 June 2019. 

SUSAN COTTRELL, a prominent voice for faith parents of LGBTQ children, was featured on ABC’s 20/20, Nightline and Good Morning America, on NBC News Out, on The Advocate Magazine’s viral videos – as “our favourite affirming matriarch.” – and is a devotional contributor on the Our Bible app. She is an international speaker who was featured on the TED stage for 5,000 people at TEDx Mile High, and her talk is approaching a million views.

She is a public theologian, acclaimed author, and consultant. Through her non-profit organization—Freed Hearts—Susan champions the LGBTQI community and families with her authenticity and tender-hearted zeal. She spent 20+ years in the Evangelical church, has a Master of Arts in Theological Studies, and served as the VP of PFLAG Austin.

Her books “Mom, I’m Gay”—Loving Your LGBTQ Child and Strengthening Your Faith; True Colours – Celebrating the Truth and Beauty of the Real You; Radically Included – The Biblical Case for Radical Love and Inclusion; and Be The Love You Want to See in the World are critically acclaimed. She and her husband Rob have been married for 31 years and have five children, two in the LGBTQ community.

16 May 2019 Sleep at the MCG in Melbourne

Some of the crew from Melbourne Inclusive Church are “Sleeping at the G” this year to raise awareness and monies to support youth homelessness here in Melbourne.

Please consider giving to this very worthwhile cause and if you like, also consider joining our team as we sleep rough one night in support of our cities youth.
